I absolutely love my role as a Personal Stylist and there's nothing I enjoy more than helping a woman to recognise her beauty and become visible again. Having been through my own style journey I feel as though my calling is to gently help others to rediscover themselves again.
The signs were always there from a young age as I was always designing dresses but began my working life by becoming a nurse. Having children gave me the opportunity to spend some time at home and during this period I realised I didn't want to return to nursing but wanted to explore my creative side. I decided to study for a degree in Art History which unfolded a whole new world. Sadly, as my degree finished, I became a single parent and needed to find a full-time job.
I applied to work in fashion retail and continued in this field working for several different premium high street brands. Although I really enjoyed the role, I could see that customers often needed more support than just a new outfit. I wanted to be able to show them the potentially beautiful woman I saw in front of me.
I felt that by becoming a Personal Stylist I would be able to help clients to make more permanent changes to their appearance and confidence. I booked in for a style consultation with a recommended Personal Stylist and after spending the day with her I knew that this was the career path to take. The Stylist gently showed me how to dress easily for my colouring and body shape, enabling a new version of me to evolve.
I was in my forties when I began to feel consistently attractive and confident for the first time in my life! I soon applied to train and began working with a leading UK Image Consultancy, learning all about the power of colour, style and dressing to make an impact. Fourteen years on and now as an independent Personal Stylist, I have helped hundreds of clients to reach their own beautiful potential. I'm based in Nottingham but work with clients in Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, the UK and Internationally. I also enjoy working as Personal Stylist for the Academy of Women Leaders helping female leaders to dress with authority mixed with approachability.
